Default Protect good items from merchant...

EDIT: crap, just saw that this has indeed been suggested in the index of ideas... sorry! wasnt quite thinking to check that because i was so pissed off...

So after I just successfully merched my dragon staff and said /goodbye to the 40ecto it cost me... I'm kinda sorta quite pissed at the game mechanic that let me waste all that money in one half instant of not paying full attention.

My idea is to introduce an option in your inventory to designate items as "locked" or "protected" so that you cannot sell them to the merchant. it is an absurdly easy mechanism to implement from a programming perspective... and I know im not the only one who has done this...

Great idea.
Lost at least 4 Black dyes this way.
I'm for it.

Agreed....
But in the meanwhile just store all valuable stuff behind a "blocker" in your inventory that can't be sold to merchant with value 0, like a Pumpkin Head or a Quest item.
And yes.... probably everyone has merched stuff, that shouldn't have been merched....

read the dozrns of threads on this and unless you are brain dead it has already been done.

1. UNCHECK ALL BAGS IN INVENTORY YOU DONT WANT TO SELL FROM AND THEY VANISH FROM SIGHT.

2. PLACE ANY QUEST/UNSELLABLE ITEM IN FRONT OF THE ITEM AND WHEN THE MERCHANT HITS THAT ZERO VALUE ITEM HE STOPS NO MATTER THE LAG OR CLICKING LIKE A MADMAN.

too big a hurry to check what you are selling?

It would be enough it they made it so costomizes items couldn't be sold.

That way, customization would have some REAL use for some items, like staves.

I think that has already been done.

this is not an error on ANets part, its a player error. they have no need to fix this. it doesnt hurt the game at all and you will, hopefully, get over it. i have gotten over countless in-game screw-ups on my part and so can you.

Impatience + Lag = lose @ trader.

Also, yes, this is mentioned in the stick. As such, Closed.
